Microsoft Start Cash back

The Microsoft Start iOS app enables users to enhance their savings with cash back rewards. By simply taking and uploading photos of their grocery receipts, users can easily earn cash back on their everyday purchases.

As the design lead for this project, I managed the entire user journey from concept to final design, ensuring the product launched in July 2022 within a tight two-month schedule. My responsibilities included creating an engaging, gamified experience that not only provided users with a valuable way to earn cash back but also attracted new participants to Microsoft's cash back program through our rewards initiative.

Market Research

From analyzing the competitors, there is an opportunity to gain a competitive edge in the market by offering instant cashback from receipt scans, complementing the existing features of our cashback program.

User Journey

The user journey begins with signing in or creating an account for the Microsoft Start program. Once logged in, they can quickly upload a receipt in just a few simple steps to receive cash back. Their first receipt upload is immediately tracked and showcased within a gamified banner in the Deals hub.

Final Designs

The visual identity was developed by our internal visual design team, and I seamlessly incorporated their visual library into my design work. This allowed me to align my designs with the established brand guidelines while maintaining a cohesive and polished aesthetic across all deliverables.
